JAMES EDWARD MULRANEY was born October 4, 1886 in Livermore, California as indicated on his WW 1 Draft Registration card.  Apparently, he lived in San Francisco the rest of his life.

 

 

I found JAMES with his parents in the 1900 and 1910 census records.

 

JAMES MULRANEY married JULIE DWYER on January 26, 1916 in San Francisco and they had 2 daughters, MARY born in 1919 and RITA born in 1922.

In the 1920 and 1930 census records JAMES is listed as a fireman in San Francisco. In the 1920 census an Aunt, Theresa Boile, is listed as living with the JAMES MULRANEY family. THERESA MC CRUDDEN married a DANIEL BOYLE/BOILE and I believe this is the Aunt who is living with this family. This was one of the many indications that the MULRANEY family was connected to the MCCRUDDEN family.

 

 

 

 

JAMES MULRANEY died on November 13, 1939 according to the San Francisco death records.  His wife JULIA died January 26, 1936 and she is buried in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma, California.

 

Apparently, after his wife JULIA died he married a woman named Pauline.  I haven’t found the marriage record yet.  There are two documents to give credit to this fact.  The 1940 California Census lists JAMES’s daughter RITA MULRANEY living with her step mother, Pauline in San Francisco.  The other mention is in the obituary for JAMES MULRANEY.

 

 

JAMES and JULIA’s daughter MARY, according to the above obituary married someone named F. REIS.  I do find a MARY married to a FRANK REES in the 1940 census who might be MARY MULRANEY.  I will check further into that marriage.  I haven’t researched any further on RITA MULRANEY but plan to in the future.
