The youngest of the sisters is ALICE TIERNEY born August 10,1898
(Birth Certificate #11249, FHL Film #1984337) in Brooklyn, New York to MARGARET
DELANEY and JOHN TIERNEY.
ALICE was 2 years old
when her mother died and 3 years old when her father died. She was brought up by her Grandparents, MICHAEL and MARY
DELANEY and her AUNT KITTY DELANEY. I am
sure her older sisters also took care of her.
In the 1900 census all the sisters are living with their
Grandparents DELANEY in Brooklyn on Henry St.
In the 1910 Census all the sisters are living with a cousin, AUGUST
SOMMERS, still in Brooklyn. By the 1920 NY Census ALICE is living with her
married sister FRANKIE TIERNEY MILLER and her husband WILLIAM MILLER.
ALICE TIERNEY married JOHN (JACK) FARRELL sometime in 1927
or 1928. The 1930 Census finds the
family living in Brooklyn with a son, JOHN who is 1 years old. In 1930 a girl was born named ALICE. I don’t know anything about either child.
ALICE AND JACK continued to live in Brooklyn until thier
deaths. In later years they lived with
ALICE’S sister FRANKIE MILLER.
ALICE died February 5, 1977 and is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery
with her husband JACK who died February 11, 1986.
